Today, Friday, 22 Rabiulawal 1443 / 29 October 2021, by the will of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala and with a heavy heart, the Ministry of Health would like to inform the public that three COVID-19 confirmed cases have returned to the grace and mercy of Allah.
Two of the cases were female, aged 64-year-old and 34-year-old, respectively. Meanwhile, another case was a 63-year-old man. All three cases had also experienced several other health problems and were not categorized as deaths due to the COVID-19 infection.
A total of one hundred and thirty-two (132) new cases of COVID-19 infections have been confirmed bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 12,955.
- There are 83 additional new cases to 15 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases.
- Meanwhile, two new clusters have been detected that involved 16 cases. One of the new clusters is an accommodation cluster, whereas the other cluster is ISS Facility Services Sdn Bhd Cluster which is a workplace cluster.
- Therefore, the current total active clusters are 176 clusters.
- Meanwhile, 33 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.
Four hundred and sixteen (416) cases have recovered today, HIGHEST so far, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 10,864 cases, whereas the total number active cases are 2,004 cases.
Among the cases being treated at this time, seven cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with two cases require the help of additional heart/lung machine (ECMO). Meanwhile, fifteen cases are categorised in Category 4 that require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 3,935 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 497,082 tests.
On 28 October 2021, a total of 2881 individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccine injection. This means that, under the National Vaccination Programme, a total of 351,496 individuals have received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which is 81.7% from the total population. Meanwhile, 252,427 individuals have completed the second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which is 58.7% from the total population. Whereas among the elderly population aged 60 years and above, a total of 42,123 individuals which is 97.3% have received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and a total of 38,188 individuals which is 88.2% have completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
For Operasi Pulih that was carried out recently from 8 PM until 4 AM, a total of 12 violations of the directive nationwide were issued with compound fines, where 10 of them are violations of the out-of-house restriction.
