The Ministry of Health (MoH) has rescheduled the appointment dates of second dose administration for adults in all vaccination centres, as it prepares for the implementation of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme for adolescents aged 12 to 17.
The appointment dates will be shifted automatically to come before or after the teen vaccination drive.
“It will be announced when the time comes,” Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said at the press conference on Thursday, adding that “some appointments will be brought forward, the rest, slightly delayed”.
The MoH assures the public that these changes are in line with the health protocol for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“These changes will involve a few vaccination centres. For instance, at the Indoor Stadium Vaccination Centre, this change will involve the appointment dates of second dose administration for adults scheduled for November 8-21. A total of 10,860 second dose appointments will be brought forward to November 1-7, while another 9,113 second dose appointments will be delayed to November 22-28,” the minister said.
These changes will be implemented to allow for the smooth implementation of the first dose administration of the COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents aged 12 to 17.
