Foreigner killed in KM107 accident (28.10.2021)

A fatal accident claimed the life of a 37-year-old foreign woman travelling along KM107 of the Muara-Tutong Highway, headed towards Muara on Tuesday night.

The Berakas Police Station received a distress call at 7.12pm, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said.

Police officers arrived to find the deceased trapped inside the vehicle, which was mangled from the impact of ramming into six steel dividers and five street lights along the highway.

Fire and rescue personnel were also on hand to help extract the victim from the vehicle.

The decreased was rushed to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital in an ambulance, but was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.

The RBPF is investigating the cause of the accident.

In light of the incident, the public is reminded to observe the speed limits, buckle up and stay focussed when behind the wheel.
