Seven out of 300 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 during a mass swabbing conducted by the Ministry of Health (MoH) at Rimba Complex on Saturday, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a daily press conference on Monday.
The seven individuals would be part of the Rimba Complex Cluster identified on Monday. Further investigation and follow-up actions such as quarantine for the close contacts are underway for the cluster, said the minister, adding that the MoH conducted the mass swabbing after identifying the area as a hotspot.
He said that data gathered through the BruHealth app had shown a number of hotspot areas, and that the ministry will evaluate where it will conduct mass swabbing operations.
The minister also addressed the issue of over 400 individuals not attending vaccination appointments, saying vaccine wastage has been minimal because doses will still be used at other vaccination centres in the Sultanate.
